Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

What is the difference between water damages?

When should you tear out wet building materials?

Water damages can come from many different pipes in your home. However, depending on the source will depend on how much needs to be torn out. We break down water damages into three categories:

  1. Category 1 - Clean water source
  2. Category 2 - Dirty water source
  3. Category 3 - Contaminated water source

When the water comes from a clean water source we will not tear out any building materials. When the water comes from a Category 2 we have to make an informed decision but will most likely not tear anything out. We always tear out materials if the water is contaminated by sewage or from flooding, such as Weber Water.
